Music in Twelve Parts
Music in Twelve Parts, a music marathon composed by Philip Glass for the Philip Glass Ensemble between 1971–74, is one of the most original and revolutionary works of Glass’s oeuvre. Both a massive theoretical exercise and a deeply engrossing work of art, the score is the culmination of Glass’ explorations and theories on repetition. Widely considered to be a masterpiece of minimalism and a seminal work of 20th century music, a Music in Twelve Parts performance is a destination special event for Glass fans and all lovers of new music.
Music in Twelve Parts runs a total of five hours with two short intermissions and an hour-long dinner break.
